Insights is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in publication — editors, authors, and reviewers — are expected to observe the principles set out below.

Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

The editorial board decides on the publication of manuscripts solely on the basis of their scholarly and professional quality, importance, and relevance to the field, without regard to the authors' race, gender, religious or national affiliation, citizenship, or political views. Editors keep all submitted manuscripts confidential. An editor who has a conflict of interest regarding a manuscript withdraws from handling it.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Review is confidential and double-blind. Reviewers who feel insufficiently qualified for a topic, or unable to complete a review in reasonable time, notify the editorial board and withdraw. Reviews are objective and argued, without personal criticism of the author. Reviewers draw the editors' attention to relevant published work not cited by the author and to any suspicion of misconduct, and decline to review where a conflict of interest exists.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors warrant that their work is original, has not been previously published, and is not simultaneously submitted elsewhere, and that the work of others is properly acknowledged and cited. Plagiarism in all its forms is unacceptable. Authorship is limited to those who made a significant contribution; the corresponding author ensures all co-authors have approved the final version. Authors disclose all sources of funding and any conflict of interest. For work involving people (including case studies), confidentiality and dignity of clients are protected and informed consent is obtained where appropriate. If an author discovers a significant error in a published work, they notify the editorial board so that it may be corrected or retracted.

Misconduct, corrections, retractions, and appeals

In cases of suspected misconduct (plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, duplicate publication, disputed authorship), the editorial board acts in accordance with COPE recommendations and gives the author an opportunity to respond. Where confirmed, the journal publishes a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, in proportion to the seriousness of the breach. Authors may appeal editorial decisions by writing to the editorial board, which will reconsider the case.

Open access

The journal is published in open access; there are no charges to authors for publication.
